Mediocre Activity #1 - Superficial community Service hours I have seen many students' college applications covering years of random extracurricular activities that they participate in high school. These activities may amount to a few hours trash pickup for the recycling club, weekly Chinese school teaching assistance, and hours of volunteering during the school year that do not seem to be consistent with the student's personal story.
