I would like to share with you this video about Elon Musk!
Musk graduated from UPenn with dual degrees in Economics and Physics. He moved to California in 1995 (Elon Musk was born in 1971) to attend Stanford university but decided to follow his business career instead. He started a software company Zip2, sold his company in 1999 for $300 million and use the money to found X.com which became present day PayPal.
Musk, arguably the most influential person in renovation, is currently involved in Tesla (Solar & Motors), SpaceX, The Boring Company (hyperloop), Neuralink.
Musk is disrupting the 7 traditional industries with his leadership & visions.
- Automotive – Tesla’s EV & upcoming Autonomous driving
- Transportation– Electric vehicles & Autonomous driving in urban areas is extremely efficient & economical and will revolutionize how to move about. We are heading into Level 5 autonomy (zero driver input or oversight from humans).
- Energy– Tesla’s solar roof, panel, power wall may transform how we use energy. If everyone in the States had their own grid and energy storage, we will transform the world the way utilities are modeled.
- Communication– SpaceX and Starlink project will send 12000 satellites to outer space. These are lower altitude, low latency satellites (less lag because light travels 47% slower in glass fiber optics). The Starlink project will hope to provide fast and affordable internet to less populated areas of the world.
- Aerospace– SpaceX is beating Boeing in many aspects. Falcon 9 is re-usable rocket to transport people to earth orbit and beyond with fractions of cost. SpaceX Starship is designed to carry passengers to planetary destinations like the moon and Mars.
- Healthcare & Humanity– Neuralink is developing brain-machine interface implants. Neuralink placed a computer chip into a monkey’s skull and wired it to play video games with its mind! The applications of Neuralink is beyond imagination. Treating brain & neurological disorders, assisting motor functions, telecommunication, AI symbiosis (Future human?).
- Infrastructure & tunnels– The Boring Company underground tunnel project allow Autonomous Electric Vehicle (AEVs) to travel up to 155 mph!
The 0.8 miles Vegas Loop project beneath Las Vegas’s Conventional center is the first project! You can go as deep as you want underground! Can’t wait to check it out his 3D network of tunnels under Los Angeles as well.
In addition to these, Musk is an extremely motivating. I think all of us can learn from his inspiring career. He is not of afraid of failures, during his toughest times in his life when he hit rock bottom (2008), he persisted against all odds.

As you head into your junior, senior year in high school, keep some of what Musk said in mind. Do not worry about making mistakes, do not worry about getting a bad test grade. Find new ways to study. Do active reading and studying, ask tutors for sample tests. Don’t be afraid of trying something new, don’t give up and keep pushing your limits. Most importantly, be happy while trying =)
