【SAT Professionals:12
- 选修一门严肃的学术类大学课程,内容要高于AP水平(例如:微积分、多元微积分、应用科学、大学写作等);
- Mt. SAC(第一堂课从 2025年6月23日 开始):

- UC Irvine(UCI 不同课程分阶段开始,最早 2025年6月23日):

[SAT Professionals: 12th Grade Parent Group – Message #1]
Hi Parents, this is Daniel Lee from SAT Professionals. Thank you for joining our 12th grade college application WeChat group! I’ll be sharing important updates, application strategies, timelines, and personalized insights to help your child successfully navigate this college admissions season.
To kick off our first discussion, let’s talk about Summer Planning.
Today’s Reminder: It’s time to finalize your child’s summer plans.
Many students are now receiving decisions from summer programs.
If your child was accepted—great!
If not, this is the perfect time to consider college credit courses.
Why are college credit courses (from UC, CCC, or other universities) better than simply adding more APs?
- AP courses are still high school-level and only potentially grant credit after an exam.
- College credit courses are real college classes, taught by professors, following college-level rigor and expectations.
- They demonstrate your child’s readiness to succeed in a college setting—something highly selective colleges value.
My recommendation for rising seniors is simple:
- Take one academic college-level course that goes beyond the AP curriculum (e.g., Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Applied Science, College Writing).
- Add one course based on the student’s interests or intellectual curiosity (e.g., Python, App Design, Macroeconomics, Philosophy, Psychology, Creative Writing, Public Policy, etc.).
Top colleges are looking for students who challenge themselves beyond high school. GPA and APs are expected—but college credit courses can help your child stand out and show initiative, intellectual maturity, and independence.
Note: Most Mt. SAC and UC summer sessions begin in late June.
Mt. SAC (first class begins 6/23/2025):

UC Irvine (various sessions starting as early as 6/23/2025):

If you have any questions about course planning or the college application process, feel free to post here in the group. No need to include names or student details—just ask.
I’ll reply in English since my Chinese is limited, and I may need to translate some replies back into English first. Thank you in advance for your patience!
